Hello all! I'm a former Marine, now working in international business and consulting, and have read many posts on this forum over the years but am joining for the first time.

My key interests:

-- I'm in love with the TC Contender modular single-shot rifle, and at some point will post questions following up on the (many, many years ago) discussions on this board of the TC as a "pocket sniper rifle"
-- I really dig suppressors, and will have questions about those eventually
-- Just bought a Ruger 96-22M lever-action rifle in .22 WMR and have cool ideas about making it a "rimfire sniper" or whatever term suits it best
-- I own a 38-55 Sharps replica, so have interest in using that at long range as a "vintage sniper" rifle, ideally doing some silhouette shooting though BPCR seems to be a fading scene
-- Someday I'd like to find a non-collectible MAS-36 rifle and make a replica French sniper, though no hurry there
-- At some point down the line I plan to build a modern compact (either folding or takedown) 6.5mm Precision Rifle, something trimmer then the Ruger and more transportable, but that's further down the road

In short, I like a lot of weird niche things, but do intend to have a more conventional PR build someday. I have standard USMC rifle training and was decent at that but no master, and was a RSO and intro instructor for an on-campus shooting club when in grad-school, but I claim no amazing skills at long-range shooting but am eager to learn more. If anyone shares my interest in the odd niche items I mention above, by all means post here or drop me a line!

Welcome to Snipers Hide! You definitely have some niche interests, but many of us do.

One of my favorite firearms to shoot on occasion is a TC Contender in .357 Maximum. This was a great straight walled hunting cartridge in a pistol with a relatively flat trajectory to 200 yards with enough retained energy to take white tail. I've done just that as this barrel is an absolute tack driver.

Based around Burlington but travel a ton for work including a lot of time in Quebec.

And though I haven't shot it yet, I have a 357-44 B&D barrel for my Contender that should be fun!

Is there anyone on the forum famous as a TC expert?
