Great buck. Could you give a little more detail on the rifle. Working on putting another savage together and really like the looks of yours.

Looks like m40 stock? Is that cdi bottom metal? Do you know the complete weight?

Thanks

Yes it is an m40 stock. That I sponge painted to replicate the GAP camo.

No CDI bottom metal. The stock accepts savage 10rnd mags. I bought it second hand, but I believe the stock takes the regular savage DBM model 10/11 metal. the mag I got off sportsmans guide was like 30$ I think.

I believe mine weighed 13 pounds and some change but I can't recall if that's with the scope or without. (Just sold it) or I would weight it again.

How did the 140 ELD-M do. Looks like textbook shot placement. Any chance you get give some details pertaining to distance, bullet performance? I am running the 140 ELD-M in my Creedmoor and am curious.

All of those pics are entrance wounds. Exit was a little larger than a quarter sized hole.
Distance was 180 yards. He was quartering away and turned back to look at me as I just spooked him out of a draw, shot went off He bucked up about 4 feet in the air bounced once, took about 10 half lifed steps and tipped over. Blood was all over the place it was insane. Inside the diaphragm the lungs were just all mushed, clipped an artery to the heart too.
Last year I shot a buck at 275 quartering to me, the bullet completely shattered his scapula into frag and jellied his lungs and exited opposite ribs leaving an exit slightly bigger than a quarter. He reared back on his hind legs (like a horse) fell forward and rolled down hill DRT.
There is an entire thread dedicated to the ELD-M for hunting over on a forum called Rokslide, a lot of pictures and personal stories on that thread if you want more info.
