Hello,
Thank you for having me. I am coming in to learn more about long range shooting not only for long distance shooting range but also for hunting in the field and being a better shot.
For those of you who want to keep reading. My main rifle is a tikka t3x lite in 308. I am planning to upgrade near the end of the year and I am looking for guidance (although I will probably make another post in a different post in the appropriate channel). The tikka shoots better than I can currently, but just like many others hear I always want the nice and fancy. My first choice was going to be the springfield waypoint model 2020 but I have seen a lot of bad feedback from springfields warrenty and a few on feeding/reliability which upsets me because that has been the rifle I have had my eyes on since it came out. It checks all the boxes of what I was looking for. Now I am looking between building the tikka, maybe reaching out to alamo precision but that is pushing the envelope on my budget a little. I held a seekins and it felt great but I just dont like how they look.
I would love and appreciate any suggestions. Luckily, I have plenty of time here to figure it out so I make the right decision. This rifle is meant to be a hybrid between a hunting rifle and something I can take to the range out to distance, so id prefer for it not to be heavy. I am sure I will build a dedicated range rifle later.
