Hello,
I live in the Seattle suburbs, and shoot at Snoqualmie Valley Rifle Club (very close to where I live). I also shoot on public land in Ellensberg and Twisp, WA. I’ve been reloading for 3 years. I got into reloading because of my favorite hunting cartridge, 6.8 SPC. I now reload for .223, .308, 9mm, .45 auto, just the basics. 6.8 is where I spend most of my time because it is the most versatile cartridge for my uses (hunting, practice, truck gun, HD). I do use a .308 to hunt elk (but mostly hunt mule deer) and ordered the magpul American stock for my Ruger American. I’m sure that might make some pros here cringe, oh well, the gun works for me. I use Trijicon and Nikon glass. I’m not too interested in the super long range hype that is going on. I really don’t have access to distances that far (even in the flat lands of Ellensburg), which makes spending time on it not very practical. That and I wouldn’t shoot a deer that far (have to be able to identify branches very carefully in WA). I joined the forum to learn more about things like CCBS/CBS, effects of altitude and temp on shots (and powders), getting better at my dope, techniques that people use to be more accurate shooters in general so I can get better as well. Thanks and I look forward to being a member.
