I joined Sniper's Hide based on Short Action Custom's recommendation to try to sell my fully custom rifle on this site. I plan on posting a thread in the Post Exchange when available (currently I do not have access).

We’re glad you came over, if only to peddle your rifle. Unfortunately I have no interest in seeing your ad, especially with your veiled attempt to show your rifle hoping to get a “how much” private message. Yes I have seen this many times before.
Our for sale section is for CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS, it’s what I provide for guys who actually want to be here. There is no fee to use it, because it’s my thank you. We have a robust PX Section because we don’t just let anyone post. We attempt to protect our members from potential scams. The 100 post rule is there as a check and balance, as most scammers are not dedicated enough to hang around. They don’t have the lingo.
This AM I banned a guy who bumped 100 posts as fast as he could, I suffer fools very little, I am a dick that way.
We may return the buy in feature where a guy like you can pay to post, however it is not available. If I do add it back in, it will be next week, after the 15th. The cost will go up too, as we don’t take any money for contributing members to post items for sale. Instead that will come from guys just looking to use us for a quick sale.

Well, I have had an interest in long range shooting since I was young. I'm not exactly sure when or why I got interested in it, but I have been hunting since I was 10. You cannot hunt deer with a rifle in NJ but I have always wanted to try it. My wife is originally from KY, and in 2012 I got my first taste of hunting deer with a rifle (I don't hunt deer in NJ anymore). Long story short, I had an opportunity in 2014 to have a custom built rifle and went for it. I researched for months and found the article "What the Pros Use", and decided to go with SAC based on their excellent reputation. This custom started with a Remington 700 ADL chambered in .243 (you can hunt coyote in NJ with under .25 caliber rifles). I got a little crazy and bought the NF ATACR scope and built the rile based on the scope.
I wanted a USMC M40A5, and used that as a guideline for this build. I bought a McMillian stock, Badger Ordnance M5 bottom metal, and Timney trigger. I contacted SAC and discussed the rest of the build with Mark. The rifle has a Bartlein 5R 1-8 twist barrel, trued action and bolt, threaded barrel with muzzle brake, epoxy pillar bed, Badger Ordnance EFR, Atlast bipod, chambered in .243 (for deer and coyote), and much more. SAC performed all the work on this rifle.
I do not want to sell it, but I have twin girls and need the money. I lost my hunting ground in NJ to a hunting club, so I cannot hunt coyote any more. I have a semi-custom Weatherby V2 in 300 WM that I will use to hunt deer in KY, but I only get down there once a year. This rifle is a dream to shoot, but I can't afford a range membership (because that is the only way to practice in NJ) due to daycare. Plus, I want to upgrade my smoker to a Lang 84, so I'm trying to sell this to buy the smoker.

You have it all wrong. I want to follow the rules and post in the exchange. There is no information about how to become a full member, so I posted a thread so that I can find out how to do this. I also messaged you privately so that I could find out how to become a member, but didn't get a response. If I need to get to 100 posts, then I'll get 100 posts (the right way). I still have a Weatherby V2 300 WM, and I still want to shoot long range (for me 500 yards). I have a lot of questions about ballistics and ballistics apps. I have seen posts show up when I google certain subjects, but I decided to check you guys out based on a recommendation from SAC. I was starting to enjoy myself, but your cynical reply is not appreciated. I understand that you probably deal with a ton a annoying people daily, but you haven't even given me a chance.
My cynical response is a function of experience, if that hurts your feelings you might be the issue.

I know you are not aware, but we just revamped the forum, we are in the middle of a new relaunch, new software, new look. That takes time to set up, two days before SHOT the site was shutdown, relaunched and I am still knee deep in painting and decorating. So no, all the options have not been put back into place. You walked in the door during construction. Finding answers can be confusing until we complete the work. We are a one man show up here.

I personally think the 100 post minimum is reasonable and a good threshold. It’s one reason I peruse the ads here with great interest. Trust.
I had the same reaction when I saw the OP’s post with the picture. Basically a work around ad. Pretty resonable assumption. Frank has a lot of patience for new folks, so give him the benefit of the doubt.

I will apologize, after reading your first message I went into the new members forum and saw your first post about selling. I'm sorry and I should have researched more before I posted. But you have to understand that I have no idea how this forum works. I was sent to this site by someone who told me to try to sell it here, and I was under the impression that I could post today. I know now that there is more to the process. And after reading further, I see how this post could be construed as an attempt to gaming the system. Feel free to delete the post if it goes against your policy.
