Well I got lucky and drew my 4th choice NM elk hunt. It is the 2nd Muzzleloader season. THe only problem is that it is unit 9 that I am not familiar with.
I know I am not going to have a chance to get to NM this summer to scout and a whole bunch of the unit is private land and tribal.
a few questions to my fellow hide members.
1. Does anyone have any knowledge of the area and does the public land get hit hard? I would be willing to pay for recent scouting info before the hunt. I can do the work for the hunt but cant get away to scout.
2. Does anyone know of any private ranches that allow hunting a trespass few?
3. Last resort would be to hire a guide and can anyone recommend a drop camp or outfitter that is good that can help me?
