Rifle Scopes New MLR scope

Re: New MLR scope

It is much simpler, I too am a recent convert and will not be going back to MOA any time soon!

Go to JBM ballistics online and make a trajectory card, I use the trajectory simplified ballistic calculator, you can have the columns read in mil or moa. What I really like about mil on mil is how the columns on the dope chart are simpler and line up better, so they are easier to read under stress.
Which scope did you get?

Re: New MLR scope

It's very simple,

A mil is a mil not matter the range, if you see the round needs to move 1 mil at 833 yards or 1 mil at 100 yards sighting the rifle in, that is your answer, move the reticle or scope 1 mil.

The reticle is a ruler, it measures in mils, the first short line is .5 mils, the full lines are 1 mil. You break up the space between the lines in 1/10th the same as your turret adjusts so it matches up perfectly.

Shoot it and enjoy and just think in mils, nothing else, that is the easiest way to go.

Re: New MLR scope

It is soooo much easier.

Lowlight, it sounds like Rangewalker has a second focal plane, so he would have to be on 15x to get an accurate measurement with his reticle correct?

Re: New MLR scope

after a little research i think i have this down, I'll be heading to the range Friday to zero and test it out, Hopefully I'll have a good report when i get back. Luckily my Iphone app, has the conversion to mil. Thanks for the Help.
