A gun shop I prefer to patronize has a couple Nightforce scopes, new but I know have been in inventory a very long time.
To order one or two would mean a good price. Reticles will not be the newer MOA reticle I would like. These are older Nightforce product.
Does this sound like a bad idea? I have had bad luck with service from one mfg., "l", and do not want unhappy ending with this investment.

Not at all. Warranty is the same. I've got one or two from way back when. Still works great. You can always send them in and change the reticle. What kind of reticle is in the scopes now? Also are these the NXS ones? Service with NF is top notch.

Sounds like the reticle is not what you want. With NF there should be no doubt of quality and reliability. Only that you are hesitant about the reticle. For an investment of this type, do not compromise. Get exactly what you want.
