I just got my Pig Saddle and PIG0311 Tripod yesterday and first off, I'm very happy with them. Only shot to 100 yards so far but it looks promising. I just have a couple questions. First, when I put my rifle in the saddle and tighten it down, it starts canting the rifle toward the right (the side I have the tightening knob on). It's easily fixed by just starting out with the rifle canted left and letting it level out as I tighten. It's not really a problem I just wanted to know if I'm doing something wrong? Second, how do you guys carry your tripods? Strapped to your pack or something similar? I plan to use it for hunting and I'd like a decent way to carry it where I can still get to it somewhat quickly. Thanks for your help!

You're most likely over tightening the saddle, you dont need to crank on it. Tubular forends especially forends with picatinny rails are going to more susceptible to unwanted cant, than square forends.

If you're right handed, I'd put the knob on the left side that way if there is going to some cant, you'll be able to readjust the rifle.

I've always strapped it to the side of the pack with the feet in the bottle pouch and only use one strap to secure it. That or T- bone it across the top of the pack. However its more difficult to remove it.

Sorry I should have wrote I'm left handed, that's why I've got the knob on the right. I'm using an A1-3 stock and it's fairly square but it does have the little grooves in the forend. I figured over tightening would have a lot to do with it because I really torque on the knob, but it seems that when it's much looser it has a little too much vertical play. However, that vertical play would probably be preferable in a hunting situation while tracking an animal.

That looks like a it could be a pretty good solution. I've found a way to strap it to my pack that I'm somewhat happy with for now, similar to what Kopfjager1 suggested. Thanks for y'alls replies!
