That is an old school tool. I just mounted an old Leupold Westerner 8x on a heavy barrel Mauser in .257 Roberts. It is not in the class with yours, but it reminds me of the rifles I used to drool over when I was a much younger man.

You got one that is defective. They put the bolt on the wrong side for normal people.

Very nice. Got to love the old-school look with the wood stock and the external adjustments on the classic Unertl. Elegant to say the least.
