New scope for my AR15

I currently have a Meopta Kdot 1x4x22 on there. It is fine for 100/200 yards for me. I am looking for something for shooting out a bit further with a mildot.

I probably will shoot 69 or 77 grain bullets.

Budget is under a grand.

I am open to different brands as long as they back what they sell.

I can shoot out to eight hundred with a 1-4x so what magnifacation were you looking for? Did you wanted something like what you have with a better reticle?

I usually have the reticle set to illuminated and on 4x. My eyes arn't the best right now, getting a little older.

I would like something with a little more magnification and a different reticle.

Sorry to hijack, but can you really see out to 800. I am going to go out to 500 for the first time and was worried about my 10x

It's like money in the bank for scopes under $1000.

I'm also looking for a scope for my AR15. I want to do some longer range shooting: 400, 500 yds. I've put 5000 rounds thru the rifle using only iron sights. Do I need 20X magnification? Do I need an expensive scope? My budget is around $1200. Thoughts? Bushnell 4200 scopes are really a good deal now. Or should I be looking at a Zeiss Conquest? Thnx.

Put a SS 3x9x42 on my AR a few months ago and couldn't be happier. If illumination is your thing, give the Vortex PST 2.5x10x44 a look. I had the PST on backorder, but didn't want to wait an unknown amount of time for it to come to market.

For $599 the SS is a steal, and it's even better with the SSHIDE discount code = 10% off. In my personal opinion, I doubt you could get a better scope for twice the money.

FWIW, SWFA may still have the package deal going which gives you some goodies along with the scope for the same price. Just another option.

I run an IOR M2 on my 20" AR & the BDC'd (to 800 w/62's)Druganov reticle rocks, if you can still find one!

Shepherds has a new one made for the AR-15 platform. Has anyone used it? Looked interesting to me. The 9" circles would match a prairie dog, coyote chest, or a human head for that matter.

Lots of good info here to start my search. I know I want greater magnification and a Mildot reticle.
