Steyr have a new rimfire , straight pull , toggle operated rifle , in 22lr & 17hmr , looks nice , EXCEPT the receiver seems to be aluminium , IF so , I am not really interested m if it was steel I would be .
I feel the action would flex or be to weak , to give a high level of accuracy .
The Annies are steel , so are the Izhmash ,

Googling "Steyr KL-12" only references this and another thread you made about it on a NZ forum. Do you have any references for this new rifle?

And I'll add that aluminum done right can handle the stresses easily, especially in a rimfire, and I doubt Steyr would drop that bad of a lemon. Depending on how they price it, I doubt they're honestly trying to compete with Anschutz/Fortner who use high grade ETG 100 chromoly steel. I would love a 1727 but shit, I think I'll build a M40A5 instead for that kind of cash...
