Rifle Scopes New Strike Eagle vs Athlon Argos BTR

I’ve never had an Athlon, but they get good feedback for the price range so I’m curious how they stack up against the newest kid on the block - the Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25x56.. specifically the Athlon Argos BTR 8-34x56.

Anyone have both or used both?

Here in Aus there's about $250 difference between them. The Strike Eagle goes for about $1150

ouch. the price premium over there cancelled most of the bang for the buck of the athlon argos.

the two scopes you have mentioned are at extreme ends, the vortex with the 34mm tube will have a whole lot of elevation adjustment compared to the 8-34 argos (the 6-24 argos has more elevation adjustment compared to the 8-34)

both of these are made in china.

if i had to choose one or the other in your original post, id choose the vortex.

I agree it would be closer the the new Midas tac 5-25x56.

Strictly comparing to an Argos, go with the strike eagle, but my opinion changes with the Midas tac

Well I got a midas tac right now. Strike Eagle on the way. I’ll have a good comparison up when I get a little time behind it.

And I got an argos too but I’m like everybody else. Not in same class but it is a good scope. Would not hesitate to recommend it.

Strike Eagle with locking turrents is a great scope check on YouTube they show a lot of the optical performance of the scope it looks quite good basically the same glass as the pst gen 2

Custom 6 creed. If I was worried about recoil them step up to razor. I started out with argos then midas tac now se.

Im kinda of cheap. Tried keeping up in the gear game. Makes you hate the game if you don’t win. I just try to buy decent stuff. Never going to make money at it. Just like to be competitive.

Absolutely the vortex. You’d have to move up to at least the Helos in Athlon to compare
