As the topic says I am very new to Long Range Shooting. I have the money to buy whatever I want. I read through a fair share of posts on this site, and have looked at sites that have some really nice looking rifles. My dilemma is.. Do I want to buy the best rifle that I can find to start out with? Or do I want to buy and put money into making a rifle at a lesser cost?

Re: New to LRS

I think the answer depends on what kind of person you are. If you like to tinker and modify, then maybe starting with something midrange and slowly upgrade. If you just like having nice stuff and don't get the upgrade bug, then start with top end gear. I'm in the first category. I like to modify. But I'm on a budget, so I generally start with someone else's unfinished project. Finish it and then sell or trade it for the next project. Good luck with your choice.
