Ive been a lurker on this forum for many years. Often this was a forum I read when researching certain topics. Recently I decided I was ready to jump into the world of bolt guns and precision shooting.

I’ve bought cheap guns in my life and often found that I move on from them rather quickly and wish I had just bought a quality gun in the first place. Buy once cry once is a lesson I have learned over the years.

I know for now that I’m not interested in competing but learning to shoot to the best of my abilities.

I’ve contemplated two calibers for my first bolt gun. It will either be .308 or 6.5cm, I’m leaning towards 6.5cm.

I’m currently looking at a RPR, Havak Bravo or I May know where to buy a couple used accuracy Internationals. On is an AX in 6.5cm rebarreled bu mile high precision and the other is an AE with the nonfolding stock in 308.

For a scope I will stick with a mil reticle since I use that on one of my AR’s but will decide between a Vortex PST FFP or a nightforce ATACR.

I will admit I’m partial to seekins and nightforce because I live in Idaho and I like to support jobs in Idaho.

Thanks for letting me join. If anyone has any thoughts please don’t hesitate to post them.

Well I bought my rifle. It’s a used AIAX that started life as a 308 but was rebarreled for 6.5cm by mile high. Judging by the serial numbers it was built in 2010. Hope to have the rifle in hand later this week.

I had some ideas for optics based on buying a cheaper rifle. This one cost me 3k when I had budgeted 2k. I think I will find a decent used gen 2 razor instead of the atacr I had hoped to buy.

The reading on this forum is endless........
