New Vectronix Terrapin X with AB Protocol

Dramatic ad, but perhaps a bit of artistic license with the view shown at 1367 meters. Given the FOV spec of 5.8 degrees, wouldn't the pictured gong need to be about 10 meters in diameter? The poles holding it up about 8-10 stories high?

Perhaps just a touch of Terrapin-X magic! :)

yes, buyers need to beware that the view from this LRF is NOT going to look like that, at least if the target is really 1367 meters away. Very mis-leading advertising. This device is NOT a spotting scope and it will not perform like one. Vectronix makes great stuff but not that great.

Few questions.

Can you confirm new TGT DoF and Ideg is transferred to the Kestrel when ranging a new TGT.

Is a previously entered wind retained when ranging a new target, or does it null out a previously entered wind when the Kestrel receives new target data, and that needs to be input again for every subsequent target.

When ranging between targets, what's the observed latency between targets for the data transfer/solver solution cycle? 3-5 seconds it looks like from the video.

It updates everything,

DOF
Angle
Range

Wind does not change, that stays as is, the Terrapin has no reason to interact or change the wind.

A few second delays to populate the solution, probably less than 3 secs

I have not tried connecting it to the 701, it might under "Apps" but it did not try to connect that I saw under Kestrel as I had both at the same time and the Garmin did not appear to respond to the link when it went into connection mode.
