Rifle Scopes New vs Old S&B 5-25x56?

Re: New vs Old S&B 5-25x56?

I have both and I don't see any difference. Both track perfectly, have very positive click feel, and great glass. What is supposed to be "new"?

Re: New vs Old S&B 5-25x56?

Rob I think he might be referring to the locking turret model that's not released yet.

The only difference is just that, the locking turrets (new design) and the cerakote color. Everything else is the same as far as I know.

There are 2 or 3 new reticles (Klein, H2CMR, and supposedly a MSR).

I have no idea when the scopes will be available. Supposedly october/november.

All I know is that they were described as "new" and yes not out yet.

Can someone describe the locking turrets? Are they referring to a system like PR? I have a 3-12x50 which uses an allen. Or are we talking about something completely different like a system that keeps them from turning in transport? Thanks

Re: New vs Old S&B 5-25x56?

The new knobs are an MTC(More Tactile Clicks) with a locking ring that needs to be pulled up to rotate the knob. Also has a pop up on the top to tell you you are on the second rotation. Unless you have a need for it I would stick with the standard double turn knob for ease of use.

Here's a video from CS Tactical showing it.

Hey Rob, where did you get your new one?

Re: New vs Old S&B 5-25x56?

Mine isn't one of the ones above in the link. It's the standard dual turn , black 5-25 but a 2010 model that is newer than my older one that I have had for about 4 years. I misunderstood the OP's question when he said old and new.
