I'm about to buy a .300 Win Mag and I'm also just getting into reloading. Is there going to be a difference in reloading the .308 compared to the .300 Win Mag?
Same process, different dies, powder and most likely primers.
Make sure you get a good reloading manual( an actual paper and ink book) and read it before you start doing anything if you are really new to reloading.
Yes I'm really new. I already ordered the Lyman's book, it's on the way. I had heard there was something different possibly with the .300 Win Mag. I wan't to make sure that it's nothing to difficult before I buy the rifle.
Same precautionary measures required just different components.
You would use magnum primers, possibly a different powder as well. The projectiles are the same however with a .300winmag i would be inclined to go with heavier projectiles than a .308win.
Just remember safety is your biggest concern. Being safe preserves you and those shooting around you and also reduces the likelyhood of you damaging your equipment.
