Such a site of info. Surprised I've never heard of it before. I'm a 1944 production model. Like thousands of my era of country boys, I got my first gun at about 12 but had shot dads much earlier. Purchased my first from hardware store at abt 14. Put my bucks on the counter, no registering, no adult with me. No question asked! So the saga began and hasn't slowed much. None of my firearms have gone off killing anyone by themselves. Have taught many young 4-H kids the shooting sports and those were happy times that I cherish.
