Hello, I am new to this forum and was hoping to get some help.

I have a remington 700 chambered in 300 weatherby Mag. It is one of my stock deer rifles. I want to convert it to a more tactical looking rifle. I have been looking at chasis and can't seem to find much other than the AICS but I am not quite ready to spend $850 on one yet. My question is, are there other companies that make similar chasis to the AICS as I really like that style. Would it be better for me to just sell my rifle and buy a tactical rifle? I want to do some long range hunting and target shooting with this gun. This will be my primary use. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

McRee, Tacmod are some other chasis systems that come to mind. If your 300 has a sporter barrel (thin contour) then it will throw shots when it starts to warm up. Id probably just try and sell it and get into a 300wm Remington 700 5R

Id build a new rifle off the action you have. Rem 700 actions are great for building off of because there are so many aftermarket parts. Id also consider switching calibers if you plan on doing alot of shooting with it for target. 308/260/6.5x47 are great tactical calibers
