I took a fluid dynamics class and the lectures sounded remarkably similar - we were looking around to see where the hidden video cameras were at. I dropped the class after 1 week. The professor was institutionalized midway through the semester and I felt like a genius.
That's funny because half my upper math classes sounded like that but weren't joking around... To explain Schrodinger's cat, nuff said.
What's worse in math is that we have opted to use various alphabets and made up symbols and can generally write entire papers using nothing but a sort of math shorthand which to the uninitiated appears to be some kind of code, if anything at all. Ah, but I love it. Love that gizmo up there too.
But I too was waiting for him to test out that rifle... When he mentioned the rifling orientation I knew it was made up but still was hoping he'd pull the trigger.
Good stuff. Leaving the neurocity coefficient out of the determination of life or death for Schroedinger's cat always seemed artificially arbitrary to me at the time but since I tended to like dogs more than cats, like Caesar, I turned my thumb down. Then again, I was in the Northern hemisphere, so the cats down under were given a free pass and now guys like Barney have hell to pay. You just can't fucking win.
Regarding math, it certainly is a code. Laypeople see e=mc2 and the apparent simplicity of it suggests all this relativity crap was invented by a goofy white-haired buffoon. Wait, it was? Well, once upon a time, I had to do all that math to pass a test and it led to some kind of Tourette's syndrome behavior that could have landed me in jail or worse. I kinda doubt that the judge would have appreciated the code.
Next time you need a good laugh, go swap the gloves in a laboratory glove box and put a sign on it that says it was optimized for southern hemisphere operation. That one fucks people right up, well, or maybe down.
I like "Serious Man" where he's giving the lecture because that's EXACTLY how it goes. The professor even has a hard time relaying it and the whole idea of it was supposed to make quantum mechanics a bit more intuitive but it has mostly had the opposite effect. It's worse getting a student around that than it is how "imaginary" numbers works. No wonder math turns so many people off. It's more akin to joining a secret society (which at Pythagora's time was exactly what it was).
The C effect is determined by which hemisphere you are in and does affect a projectile in flight (usually over looong trajectories) but if you are considering this in your hand math you may as well go ahead and consider mass/density of the planet and the gravity specific to those coordinates and don't forget to consider tidal effects on gravity due to the moon. Oh, it can get SO complex. I learned all the math to come to one conclusion: shooting is more art than science, or rather, you can be good at shooting or you can be good at the math but seldom will you have time to be good at both!
It's more fun to shoot than do math, unless you're a nerd. Get back to you later, I'm gonna go work on my new equitorial range card. Do you want to face east or west?

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS be sure to compensate for Areolas effect when shooting in the northern hemisphere......its amazing how many shooters fail to account for this.

Google Turboencabulator. There as hundreds of them, most of them funnier than s#$%. We had to do this when learning to present to groups. You would think it would be easy to just make it up, but it took a good deal of practice until you could sound convincing.
I am no shit referenced in whenever he decides to make an updated/revised version of the LR Shooting Handbook. We traded some emails after I read it and there are some corrections we figured out.
