I understand that NightForce will do certain conversions regarding reticles and turrets, etc.... Does anyone know if they offer a conversion of the Benchrest target turrets to the newer high speed NXS turrets?

I believe they do. I have a BR 8-32x56 and emailed NF about a reticle change. Here is their reply:

"Nightforce offers both reticle and turret upgrades for a nominal fee. The Zero stop is available in either .250 MOA or .10 Mil Radian adjustments. Nightforce can retrofit your NXS optic (to exclude the 42 power optics) with the Zero stop of your choice for $ 350.00. Standard hi-speed turret modification costs are $275.00 for .250 and .125 MOA (.125 MOA hi-speed adjustment are available for the NXS 8-32 and 12-42 powers only). Reticle changes offered by Nightforce are $300.00 for a second focal plane optic and $ 400.00 for a first focal plane optic, excluding the Horus H-58 which is priced upon request. (Note: Focal planes are not interchangeable). Average return shipping cost is $16.50."

On the surface it seems they will but considering they explicitly say "NXS" when referring to .125 MOA turrets, I'm just not sure.

Also the reason I am comfortable posting this with prices is that it came in what seemed to be an automated message from "Customer Service 4" at NF. If the powers that be don't like it, let me know and I'll change it or they can.

When I called Nightforce around this time last year, I was told they do not convert BR models turrets to NXS turrets. So, I sold my BR model and bought an NXS. Give Sport Optics a call, they took great care of me.

Call them, but I doubt it, the BR turrets are much smaller and taller than the NSX turrets. Changing an older NSX for a 1/8-1/4 MOA click value or adding a zero stop I can see happening, but not switching from BR style knobs to NSX knobs, AND the last communications anyone here (including me) has had with NF they are not currently accepting scopes for modification at this time.

BTW, I understand researching things, but you are really over thinking this.

Oh yea, HOW 'BOUT DEM DAWGS!

Re: NF 12-42x56 Benchrest scope turret conversion?

Over thinking is what I do, especially while I'm in "Sit-n-Wait" mode while I generate the funds. But when it's time to make a decision, I don't hesitate. I know what I would do if I could do it right now. The only problem is that I can't, thus my continuance of research.

The only reason why I asked about this is because I was offered that scope for $800. I had also seen a post somewhere else that was similar to what halcyon posted above but said that they were taking scopes for conversions as of Sept. 1, 2011. In that thread, there were others that seemed to be open to the idea that there was an alternate turret style for the BR model but didn't clarify as to whether or not it was the NSX style or not. The ability to have the knobs converted won't have any impact on whether or not I purchase this particular scope. I just thought I would ask the board if anyone had any experience with this just in case I did and was interested in making the conversion, if at all possible.

As far as "DEM DAWGS," the put a hurtin' on my Tigers. I always believe my guys have a chance at winning (and I claim them as mine because of the job that I have, puts me in close proximity with them on a daily basis). However, I can see the forest for the trees and I knew going into Athens Saturday and pulling out a W was a tall order. We're playing 16 true frosh and red-shirt frosh in our two deep both ways and only 6 total seniors and red-shirt seniors. UGA definitely has a deep and talented team this year and I really feel like they will give LSU or Bama a run for their money in Atlanta in 3 weeks. I hate that we had to lose, but I was glad to see Coach Richt get a good win. He really needed that.
