Been watching EVERYONE gush about this scope. So I need to get a consensus on one for a .300 WM build I'm considering one for.

What sets this scope apart from the rest in the price range/ magnification category ?

Thanks

Depends on your purpose I guess. I love mine on my match rifle, but would be equally at home on an ELR or heavy hunting rig in my opinion. 35x isn't just a spec, the scope is bright and usable at 35x as long as mirage is playing nice.

Here's what I've found:

Dry fire practicing in my garage, I can resolve drywall screws at like 12x.. parallax free, in focus. Nice option since it's been like -20 here.

I spend time at 100 yd line dryfiring on 35x.. helps magnify reticle hop/overall stability.

Most scopes really shine at 50-75% of their max magnification.. so the 7-35 has incredable sight picture around 25x where most of the competition is maxed out, tight eyebox, etc.

MIL-C is an intuitive and clean reticle.

Screws just under 1.0 MIL..

Well, besides the ultra high powers it is pretty much the only one in its class which makes it unique from the start.

The glass in the x35 is noticeably better than the x25. I was really surprised the first time I looked through the x35.

I like the MIL-C, but IMHO it is a bit too thick in this application.

Great power range, glass is amazing, paralax minimum distance is super close, paralax is incredibly forgiving....

The paralax being very forgiving is one of my favorite features. I often have my paralax set at about 250 with the mag range in the 15-20x area to run troop lines at matches. I can shoot targets from 400 yards out to 1000 yards with a focused image and less than .1 mils paralax the whole way out without ever touching the paralax knob.

Every time I take the scope out and zoom it up to the 25 to 30x range I am amazed at how clear I can see details on targets. Incredible scooe. I have owned Hensoldt, Minox, Kahles, and others, but the 7-35 nightforce is the best in my experience.

Out of curiosity why do you guys prefer SFP for ELR? I see no advantage in a FFP for ELR but not sure what advantages a SFP would offer either except maybe extending the holder overs a lower power settings

It offers a few things you don’t see regularly:

Useable 35x

35x with 10m parallax

37 mils or so elevation

Along with being a well known products out there.

If those features fit you needs and you a reticle they offer, you’ll probably like it.

If not, you’ll probably not like it.

With optics all the people that love them are vocal about it. The ones who didn’t like it, have found a scope the like to be vocal about (go zcomp!)
