I have a couple of ATACR's and the rotating eyepiece (when you zoom) is driving me crazy. The tenebraex lens cover, which is opened, rotates with it (of course) and gets in the way. Do you guys just take them off? Switch to bikini covers?

Yeah I have taken mine off quite a bit, but if I am going to be taking it off I might as well just get a bikini cover as it would be much easier. I really wish the entire eyepiece didn't move. Maybe it's time to look at another optic. ZCO? :)

No way..NF is pretty nice. The ability to set the ZS wherever you want is a seldom talked about feature but one that I fond very important as I have an AT and shoot different calibers. It is worth the slight inconvenience with the cover.

Truth be told, I'm over chasing the latest and greatest. I have S&B, NF, Khales, USO and they all have strengths and weaknesses. I don't generally debate optical performance as it is really subjective. I like all the scopes I own but none of them are clearly better than the others. USO is the weakest of the bunch but in all fairness, it was purchased in 1999 and I can always club someone to death with it.

I even had a 2 day period where I played with a Tangent Theta....it was definitely very nice but for me, it's cost was no way justifiable. YMMV
