Rifle Scopes NF FFP questions

Re: NF FFP questions

Yes it will as they both will be subtending correctly on 15x and appear the same. On lower powers the SFP will still look the same but will not subtend correctly to the target as the target is getting smaller due to turning down the magnification. The FFP reticle will appear to get smaller but it is still subtending correctly and in proportion to the target as the power is reduced and is not covering any more or less of the target.

Re: NF FFP questions

While I won't speak for NF....... but I can speak about scopes in general.

A FFP reticle will grow and shrink as the power is dialed on and off always retaining the correct dimension.

A SFP reticle will remain the same size throughout the power range and the FOV (field of view) will contract and expand as the power is dialed on and off.

The advantages of a FFP scope are simply that the reticle will always subtend the same measurement while the SFP scope will only subtend correctly at one power(usually the highest). These trait are important when "milling" for UKD ranging and when holding for leads and follow up shots. Night Vision operations also are improved with a FFP reticle.

Cheers,
