I have decided on the NF 2.5-10x32 and the two reticles i have narrowed my choice down to is either the NP-R2 or the Low velocity reticle. I know everybody is against a BDC type reticle, but for my setup with 175gr, velocity 2610 in florida it is pretty much right on till 600yards to within less than 0.2MOA which is as good as i would be able to dial with a .25MOA or 0.1mil turret. Of course i always have the option to just dial my drops in MOA if i want to on the LV reticle.

All of my other scopes are NP-R1. Looking at the NP-R2 i notice that the windage marks are 5MOA apart. How can you hold wind with 5MOA distances? Even with 10mph cross wind, you dont have to hold 5moa until almost ~500yards. The NP-R1 has 2moa windage marks. The LV reticle definitely wins in this regard cause you have 5mph and 10mph holding for all ranges from 200-600yards. I am confused on why NF would choose that substension for the NP-R2?

I ran a NP-R2 for about a year, and found myself asking the same thing, and eventually swapped out to an NP-R1.

I have no idea why they went with a 5MOA windage marks. With the intro of the NP-R1 reticle, frankly I am surprised NF has continued the NP-R2.

When I was still using an NP-R2 equipped NF, I found it easier to hold for elevation (if I didn't dail it in) and I always dialed in for windage because I don't recall ever being in a windy enough situation at a long enough range to reach the first 5MOA mark on the reticle with the 300WM I had the scope mounted on. (There's an example of a fair-weather shooter for you!!)

go with the npr1. 5 moa is to much hold for wind. i just bought a br series nf scope wich doesn't come in npr1. i have no clue why anyone would want 5moa dashes but i found a limited run of npre recticles in the scope i wanted
