I'm trying to decide on the proper ring height for my new build. It will consist of a Stiller action with a +20 MOA Stiller base, NF 5.5-22x50, and a AICS 2.0. The barrel is a #7 contour.
The reason I'm undecided is that I've got a M700 in a AICS 2.0 with a Badger +20 MOA base, NF 1.00" (medium) rings, NF 3.5-15x50 and a #7 contour barrel. With that setup, I have the cheek piece dropped all the way down and I still have to mash my face down on it to get centered on the scope. To say it's a solid cheek weld is an understatement. It's not very comfortable for extended shooting sessions.
So the question is, should I get the 1.375" or 1.5" rings for the new build. Just wondering what you guys are using. I'm thinking that using the Victor Co risers will bring the cheek piece up into a more comfortable position.
