I bought a couple of NF scopes in the last months. After several trips to the range and good with my zero, I set my zero stop. After setting my zero stop, both of the elevation turrets fit flush down on the scope. i.e., Opposed to starting on the second line.

Is that part of the feature of Zero Stop, that the Turret fits down on the scope? Or did I push them too far? The feature works perfect. But I wanted to make sure I did it correct.

Any help appreciated.

Re: NF zero stop question.

You did it right. This way you don't get lost in the elevation after you set the zero stop. The zero stop should be your bottom. Say, zeroed at 100 yards. When you shoot at 200 yards you will move the elevation knob in the direction of "impact up". So on and so forth...
When you set the zero stop you lowerd the top piece of the assembly and at the same time lowered the cap. This will result in the cap not sitting in the same place as before you set the zero stop.

I set my ZS 1 mil below my actual zero. I set my cap on the turret to read 1 mil below the "0" on the cap and then adjust up to the "0".

You can't push them in too far, you did it right.

I have the MIL SPEC and a 3.5-15x56 MLR.

Thanks for the replys. Good to know it's good. I set one three clicks back and the other on the dead on zero, to see if I preferred one over another. Still experimenting with them. They are fine scopes.
