I've also heard of them denying those DIY trusts... If you were to compare a DIY or regular trust to a specific NFA trust, you'd know what I'm talking about.
Now is your wife a property lawyer or is she also up to speed on NFA rules? That essentially is the difference. I heard a LOT of property and trust lawyers tell me they had no idea how to go about setting up an NFA trust. Most were unaware they existed or what an NFA trust even was. I appreciated their honesty. Ultimately, I had to find a property lawyer that was NFA savvy, and he also was an NFA item collector himself, as well as an infantry vet. We hit it off. He made it clear that NFA trusts should be separate from regular property trusts and wills due to the details that are present in the NFA trust that are not necessary in a regular property trust. Again, when you see one, you'll see it is a specific document that covers all the bases when it comes to NFA law. In fact, it really resembles in no shape form or fashion, a regular property trust.
Given she is a lawyer, perhaps she could pull some strings and get the proper template from someone. Goldstein or Goldberg, he's an NFA lawyer in FL that kind of started all of this, or at least he made it popular.
The NFA trust also provides you a LOT of protections, so I'd be sure to get it done right. Mine cost $500 and I consider it one of my best investments in firearms related stuff, and I can't even "use" is. But buying that first suppressor was easier than buying a pistol, save the wait, and the afforded protections of the trust regarding the items contained within is, well, priceless.
Some missed or wrong wording in details can render it useless.
PM me if interested and I'll give you my lawyer's details. If he's willing to send you his template, you may be good to go --if you have this, she could probably easily finish it. If not, perhaps he can direct you to another template? Or perhaps your wife can find it herself? Again, Gundocx is the name of it.
Good luck, and it is worth getting done right. Tread carefully here. </div></div>
Why would Goldman give away his money maker? Thats bad business. He might ask her to become a Gun Trust lawyer in his network but in the end he still gets paid.
Please post actual documentation of a Quicken Trust that has been denied.
Every has "heard" of these things but noone is able to provide examples, especially the NFA Trust lawyers that do it for a living.
That has to say something.
Would love to see a Trust that has these protection you are mentioning. All the copies I have seen don't really say that much.
