Come on out for a great day of camaraderie and help the club raise some money for range improvements.

Please note that you must have shot with us in a prior match to be eligible for the mile. If you are a first time shooter or are brand new to competition shooting, this isn't a good one to start with. There have been well over 20 matches so far you could have gotten your feet wet with, so we will see you next year.

The Mogadishu Mile involves approximately 400 yards of movement and up to ten different firing points with defined targets for each location. The course of fire is based loosely on the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993 and fictional occurrences portrayed in the movie.

There will be a full size representation of a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter on the range that you will have to work your way toward, and secure. Radio communication will be required. There will also be a technical (a simulated pickup with a mounted gun) that will have to be engaged.

There is no pistol required. Only range staff and the shooter firing are authorized to be hot. Secure them in vehicle please. Please note the cancellation policy. If you register and withdraw within 5 days of the match or do not show, you owe the match fee the next time you shoot with us.

Recommended round count is 120 rounds minimum stacked in magazines.

This match is a lot of fun. Some say the best ever. You are guaranteed to have a great time.

Damn, I'm working during this one. Helluva match however, wish I could be involved. BTW, I deployed with 10th Mountain for Op Restore Hope.

I'm really sorry you can't make it. It would be great to have someone aboard who was actually there.

I don't want the younger guys seeing this as a cartoon.

I am adding a moment of silence to the morning opening ceremonies agenda (we always start with a prayer for our troops and pledge of allegiance) and safety briefing to remember those that didn't come back from there.

I had only attended precision rifle matches that ran at a slow pace before the MOAG last year, this match was phenomenal.

I'm in to SO, I signed up this morning. Those who are on the fence about attending, this is a fantastic match to attend and enjoy some of Amish country's beautiful July heat.

It was a great time!

I must have ran well over 20 shooters through in addition to shooting it myself. I have video of it as well. Should be some pics rolling through. Scores tomorrow. I'm friggin beat!

The ruck weight was definitely taxing.

Re: NHRPC MOGADISHU MILE CARBINE MATCH - GAP, PA 7/9

I would like to thank everyone who pitched in and gave of themselves to make this year's Mogadishu Mile match into what I felt was the most challenging and fun match we have run at the club to date. Staff and shooters alike.

Let's remember that we've got the best part of our next generation overseas running around with more weight than this, and with people shooting back. Please remember to ask for their protection in your prayers.

I especially thank my evening crew who stayed there long after the match was over for hours of brass picking, prop disassembly and lots of hard manual labor. We ran sections of the helo balanced on the back of a truck down to the pit area. It was like "MOGADISHU MILE PART TWO" as depicted in the movie when they used the vehicles as cover. I know all that work is the last thing you guys wanted to do,so please know that I noticed it, and appreciate it very very much. Especially the guys from out of state who stayed behind until the last moment.

I apologize to the shooters who had a dnf and did not get a second run at the course. No dnf shooter did. We had hours of cleanup work to do, few remaining to help and I had to be at work at 8pm. It turned out I was late but a brother covered for me.

We had two major classes this year - Enlisted and Civilian. The scores are broken down by that.

Congratulations to all the top finishers, including Cecil and Rick on the Enlisted side, and Chris R, Matt R, Eric K, and Steve K on the Civilian side.

How would you rate the course of fire? Compared to last year?

Photos are coming. Post if ya got.

I personally felt it was significantly more difficult marksmanship wise, the targets were smaller. In the case of the droppers, you had to hit them very well to get them neutralized. Also, the run was longer. The added rucksack weight was a huge factor IMHO.

There's a strong heartbeat at NHRPC. I am proud that our program is an important part of that.

If you live within 1.5 of the club, I will renew my plea to get you to come on board in the club as a member. We really, really need the support both in election votes to keep the program going, and as a team member to help organize and execute the difficult missions of putting matches on like this. If you enjoy this kind of shooting and want to be part of a great group of folks who take it as seriously as you do, then you have found the right team to join.

You will also get access to some "members-only" events including sound suppressor night matches.

If you didn't do as well as you had hoped, it probably means you need more practice! Come on out to our regular matches, or (take cover, shameless plug coming) check out my training company at:

We have a two day carbine course coming up at NHRPC in October.

I'm disappointed that I couldn't make the match this year, it sounds like everyone had a great time. Kudos to Fargo and the rest of the staff for the hard work involved with pulling this off successfully!
