Gunsmithing Nickel Boron on a bolt gun?

Looking at my AR bolt carrier and the nickel boron coating I thought why not on a Rem 700 bolt?
Has it been tried, would there be any benefits like self lubricating and make bolt manipulation faster and smoother.

There has been a lot of use of Robar's NP3 on bolts... Robar SR60, SR90, as well as Terry Cross's Sentinels get NP3 bolts as standard

Had a guy get NP3 on his action and bolt, it was a Win or FN. looked good and was very slick. I thought it was a little pricy tho. Would be cheaper to have everything Melonited
