Rifle Scopes Night Force Baseline Advice Wanted

I currently have a older Night Force NXS 3.5-15x50 with .25MOA windage and elevation adjustments. For whatever reason this optic has baselines on the windage turret, but none on the elevation. This proves problematic as it's mounted on a .308 and requires over 1 rotation to dial in anything over 425m. I've tried putting in a little ladder of tick marks with a silver sharpie, but it's still less that ideal. I've been thinking about cutting a few marks into the turret body with a razor-blade, but figured I'd first see if anyone on here knew of a better option.
