I have been looking at some of these sub 1000$ night vision scopes that are all over these days. What's the general consensus on whether or not these will hold up to the recoil impulse of a m1a? Also if anyone could recommend a particular model I would appreciate it. I am looking to do some wolf/coyote whacking in the dark.

Zeiss Z-51 Orion or used PVS-4, both are rated for 308. The PVS-2 is a nice scope as well but it weighs ~7 lb and doesn't as good of performance as the other two. I've got several Z-51 scopes and they are absolutely outstanding NV for the $$ spent.
