Rifle Scopes nightforce battery storage?

how long will you guys store your battery in your nightforce scope before you decide it is too long of a time frame and remove it?

im asking because i have one put back in the safe, but prob wont have a rifle to put it on for 1.5-2 years. i like to take the scope out and mess around with it every once in a while, but dont know if its a good idea to keep the battery in it for a couple years without much use either.

Take it out and leave it out. It serves no purpose in a safe. Remember what happens to a flashlight you forget about?????

I don't think lithium batteries leak and corrode like an old alkaline. Least I've never had a problem with a lithium in any electronic i've ever owned.
