I find myself torn between two choices, the Mil-Spec F1 with the mil-dot reticle or the standard F1 with either a MLR2.0 or the Mildot 2 reticle. Obviously the Mil-Spec is a superb piece of workmanship using the finest glass available to Nightforce and built and tested to the highest of standards (not to say any other NF isn't built to the highest standards). But it seems reading through the explaination NF sent to Frank, these scopes really are manufactured to the highest level possible. Obviously, some will argue that the only achilles heel these scopes have is the mil-dot reticle, that is when comparing the standard mil-dot reticle to the newer mil-dot2 or MLR2.0. I think most will agree that these reticles do offer the shooter an improved ranging and wind hold capablity than the standard mil-dot simply cannot. My question is to those with the Mil-Spec F1, in comparison with other NF scopes you may have used, is the optical clarity improved to the point that you noticed it. Have you found the standard mil-dot reticle to be a hinderance when you are shooting in a match, (where one wishes he had a 1/2 mil line or hash mark between the mil circles). Obviously the Mil-Spec scopes are really one of a kind, I suppose I am just going to have to pick one and be done with it.
