Rifle Scopes Nightforce question

It was my understanding that all Nightforce scopes came with an illuminated reticle. If not than mine doesn't and that solves the problem. But for some reason the scopes reticle will not light up. I try twisting the turret but nothing unscrews to change the battery. I don't want to break anything on the scope so I figured I would ask here. Maybe I am just having an off night

Pull the focus knob outwards to turn on the illumination.

if it's NXS yeah it's got it. it can be adjusted down so low that it is impossible to see in other than dark conditions. turn the knob CCW and grip just the knurled part and keep turning I managed to get mine pretty dang tight before and never broke anything when taking it off. pull out on the illum knob look for it then go in a dark room look for it if ya still can't see it, take that cap off, turn the teensee little dial in there and try till you get it where you want it.
