Recommendations for which reticle is best suited to for ER shooting applications; leaning toward the NPR-2. If anyone has experience in this area, I'd be interested in hearing your opinions. Looking to go past 2000 yards. Will be mounting on a 40moa rail.

Re: NightForce Reticle for 375 CT

That's a good choice if your NF has MOA adjustments. The NP-R1 has finer gradations and NF calls it an improved version of the NP-R2.

The MLR is probably the best reticle if your scope has mil adjustments.

Re: NightForce Reticle for 375 CT

If you have MOA knobs you probably want to look at the NP-R1 instead of teh R2. The R1 has 1MOA ticks and the R2 has 2 MOA ticks.

I have an R1 scope and I almost bought an R2. Either would suit the purpose, but I think the finer detail on the R1 will certainly help at those ranges

IF you have mil knobs you don't want to put a MOA reticle in there, so the MLR is a much better choice as 1eyejack said.

It's in the subject line. 375 CT = 375 Cheytac

Re: NightForce Reticle for 375 CT

That and Mil Dot Master and/or something like Ballistic FTE and you'll be good to go. Just stop thinking in clicks as inches per hundred yds, just think in mils or 1/10 mils. With a little practice and getting your dope at the incremental yardages should make it very easy to adjust.

Re: NightForce Reticle for 375 CT

Already have the mil dot master; ordered a Kestrel 4000 yesterday. Looking into the Casio Ballistic Computer that CheyTac uses; accounts for altitude density, spin drift, coriolis, wind. don't want to totally rely on that tech, but it would be a good trainer until I get a better handle on how different variables have to be accounted for. CheyTac is claiming moa results at range; I don't know if I can build a rife capable of that, but we'll soon know.

Going to try my hand at with the 375 CheyTac. Next logical step up from a 300 WinMag, which is 1800 yards at best on a good day. The CheyTacs maintain supersonic velocities longer than the 338 Lapua as well as delivering heavier ordnance on target and outperform 50BMG rounds on hard targets. None of the last bit really concerns me; the hardest target I'm likely to engage is a milk jug or similar. A well known ELR shooter took a turkey at 2200 yards with a 408; prolly not a lot left for dinner, but it only took two shots...
