Ive use dthe MLR with 0.25MOA turrets and didnt have many issues. Its nice to have them matched but stick to what you know best.

Yes, the np-r1 would be my pick for moa turrets. Only because the spacing of the wind holds on the np-r2 reticle are larger than what I would prefer.
If you were to want mrad (1/10 mil) turrets then the mlr would be my pick. I have the mil-dot and while it is a good reticle I have grown to appreciate the 1 mil and 1/2 mil lines more than the dots.

The MLR w/ .25MOA turrets are NOT matching but is perfectly usable. I prefer the MLR with Mil Turrets.

ya i was looking at the MLR ret but i cant afford the Mil upgrade on the turrets. so i will get me one with the NP-R1
