They are both good companies. I have a Weaver t-24 that I think is an excellent value. I've also had many Nikon scopes and other products: superb value.

Weaver tacticals don't have numbered stadia lines. I would consider this a drawback unless all you do is shoot from a bench.
Weaver should have done this on a $700 scope. My Nikon buckmaster has numbered stadia lines and was under $300. Small gripe but for quickly dialing your dope it would help.
