Rifle Scopes Nikon Tactical 2.5X10X44mm scope

Re: Nikon Tactical 2.5X10X44mm scope

They are a greast scope, but not for 1020.00

500 to 600 is better. Keep your eyes on SWFA and auction sites.

The one (older tactical model, not the new X) I have on my remington tactical 308 seems to be tracking fine in moa out to 800, the glass is good but not NF quality or even nikon monarch gold quality which surprized me when I first bought it. But it is good enough for my needs, shooting steel and hunting. Turret quality feel/sound is perfect. The tube is of heavy duty construction, heavier than most tactical style scopes Ive owned.

Re: Nikon Tactical 2.5X10X44mm scope

I own two older Nikon tactical scopes. The real old ones first came with Gen 2 type reticles. I find them to be solid scopes but the 4-16x50 is a little unforgiving with eye placement. I would look around and purchase a used one. They can be found for 500-650 dollar range.

I didnt pay that much for mine, dont remember what it was but definitely wasnt that much. But do like it, has the duplex...image is sharp, clear and bright and the adjusments are easy as well . Can't compare other than to other nikons and leupy's but works for me.

Re: Nikon Tactical 2.5X10X44mm scope

Yea I have the old old models that have a fully illuminated red/green Gen II reticle that Im guessing was stolen from premier reticles.

I love it, since it matches up with my PR heritage.
lol

Re: Nikon Tactical 2.5X10X44mm scope

I have one of the older tacticals, and a friend has a newer monarh x. They are very solid scopes. The glass, to my eye, is better than the similar leupolds that we are issued at work (3.5-10x40 M1 mil dots). The power range is just a bit bigger, and turret is 10 MOA per turn vs Luppy's 15 per. I found it was easier to keep track of the 10 per in my head - but that's minor.

I like the turret feel of the Nikon. I've used it for many years, and have not a single complaint.

That link you have is a little high prices. You can get a better deal at liberty optics or SWFA.

No doubt, for that much I would buy a used NF.

Re: Nikon Tactical 2.5X10X44mm scope

It looks like the Nikon Tactical 2.5-10x44 is now called the Nikon Monarch X. I haven't been able to find any of the old Tactical models in stock. Anybody know where to find the Nikon Monarch X 2.5-10x44 illuminated mil-dot at better then ~$1000?

http://swfa.com/Nikon-25-10x44-Monarch-X-30mm-Riflescope-P45653.aspx

It looks like a great scope, but I feel it is priced a bit too high. Like others have said, for that price I would just go Nightforce but I really didn't want to spend that much right now. I'm looking for an alternative to the Viper PST 2.5-10x44 since the ETA of that one is unknown, and the only cheaper Nikon 2.5-10 models I have seen are not illuminated.

Edit: Just saw that Natchez has some refurbushed ones. What does everybody think about a refurbished Nikon Monarch X 2.5-10? Worth it or stay away?
