Seems like a lot of .gov contractors enjoy flipping the bird to the “civilian” consumer.
Hope they go broke when the gov contracts die down and lean times come.
They only have BAE as a competitor, and FLIR had better software....

This will end up being good for the consumer, a void in the market will lead to new products from new companies that will offer a fresh take on the application of the technology.

My FIL was international sales for FLIR. This was a new product sample he received via Fed Ex one day while we were visiting.

Unlike civilian market where we count our $$ , gov spending is not quite so cost conscious , but we can wish them to go way of Colt.
*So next time when US sends Ukrainians NV optics they might be actual US made products , first ones they got were US brand made in Ukraine lol (much of low to mid price range stuff that is made in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine and sold under western brands).
7 yo tech in that field, is like the difference between a 22lr an 308 at 800yds these days
