Can anyone point me at a good quality general purpose 1911 trigger (preferably with an over-travel adjustment) that doesn't have the serrations on the front? I don't know why, but they're driving me nuts, I'd much rather have smooth.

Cylinder and Slide I believe makes a few smooth face triggers. Harrison custom does as well.

Yeah, but I have no experience to determine which I should select.

Your gun probably has a long trigger in it now if it has a flat main spring housing. Just pick a long trigger that you like and you'll be in business.
