Noreen Bad News 338

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

the older hornday brass was thiner towards the base and some would expand where the extractor wouldn't pull the case. Hornady fixed the problem and there new stuff works flawless but Noreen just puts the warning out there because im sure the old batch of Hornday 338 lapua ammo is still out there, its not like 338 Lapua if flying for the shelves.

Here is a post i saw about the bad hornday 338 lapua ammo:

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

I have drooled over the Bad News Lapua on several occasions but .338 in a semi-auto is pretty much bad news if you consider how much ammo you'd be using up versus a bolt rifle.

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

killshot, i think i know what your talking about. When i bought a ar15 i added an eotech and still could afford a case of ammo. I finaly pulled the trigger on buying a Bad News and just picked up a NF 8-32x56 but its okay cause i dont have to buy the rifle and scope ever again, BUT what bothers me a bit is the blackhills 338 lapua ammo (which was my only choice other that PPU)was freakin $120 a box. thats $60 per mag. im dreading having to sight it in...LOL

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

Yeah, every time you squeezw the trigger, there goes $6 flying down range. After you've fired 4-5 shots, you could've bought an entire box of .308 match ammo with the money that was just spent by squeezing the trigger.

To hell with THAT! LoL

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

The only affordable way to shoot 338 LM is to reload it. The only way I got into the 338LM game was when my father passed he left me a Barrett 98B, 500 pieces of Brass and 10lbs of Retumbo. Coming up on 2 years and I know he would be proud every time i send one down range.

Awe, damn...sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. On the other hand, you're one lucky dude. The Barrett 98B is an awesome piece of weaponry!

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

thats prety damn good shooting...
Here where i live all the ranges tend to only go up to 300yds so i will build me a swing steel target and take it to the deer lease to play out to 500yrs ang get some practice in.

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

im waiting for another scope to come in, and then i'll let ya know what the kick is like. they clamed .243 recoil. if rounds were cheaper i would just squize off a few to see how it is, but thats not the case so i have to use them wisely when it comes to sighting in the rifle.

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

I just fixed that problem. I bought my daughter a S&W MP15-22 in pink camo for Christmas so when I'm done shooting a coupe rounds of 338LM i can switch over and shoot 200rds of .22lr LOL

Re: Noreen Bad News 338

I had a Noreen 50BMG and can say that their brake worked very well...felt like my 243.

The bad news rifle is pretty neat and I believe it's the only 338LM semi currently being offered.

I don't get people say it's $5-6 a round...most people shooting 338LM are reloading and it's much cheaper than $6 a round.
