Hello just picked up some of these to try at a later date were a great price so figured WTH.

Is anybody using these? Ill be loading them in a 243win and possibly a 243AI in the future.

Thanks

never shot thoes, but 105 A-max and 105 bergers work tits in an 8 twist or faster, i shoot 243AI 8 twist kreiger.

I bought 500 of them a while back, they shoot just fine for me, I simply just used the hornady in place of the 105g hybrid and they shot in the .4's for me at 100. I used them to practice positional and barracade drills and use the hybrids in matches.

Not as tight as the hybrids but with no load developement i was happy, I didnt even touch the seating die, i think i jumped them like 45 thousandth based on how it was set up for my hybrids. I am sure with the proper attention they would shoot better, good luck for the money a great value.

shot a bunch of them last week in a 6MM AR, they are awesome at 600yds, results were a bit depressing at 100yds but all the left over test loads performed great on a 4"X7" plate at 600 yds.

Just finished remaking my Savage Model 10 in 308 into a 243.

Got test loads made up with the Nosler Custom Comp 105's for the range
tomorrow. Got five differnet loads.
All Hornady match brass, Neck turned to .014, and flash holes uniformed.
All Primers are Wolf LR.
Powder is all RL22 starting at 42.0gr going to 44.0gr in 0.5gr bumps. (10 rounds of each load)
Bullets are seated right at (touching the lands).
Will post target and chrono data tomorrow after I go shooting.

Sunday is scheduled for a trip to my buddys 1000yd range. So, I need to get it on paper,
pick a load and have some velocitys. Will also post 1K results Sunday afternoon.

Here is my little beauty now.

Stock was done by Jim @ South Mountain Aqua Grahics. Great guy to deal with.
Have several more projects that will be dipped by him for sure.

Just finished building a target swinger for shooting at 1k on Sunday.

Plate is 12"x12" with to 1/2" bent sq bars weld to the plate.

Three other hide members are going along for the fun.

Just got home from the range and now have my first 50 rounds down
the new Shilen Barrel.
Below are my target results at 200meters. I tyipically do 10rnd targets but
with it being 36 degrees out I only did 5 rounds on targets with the Magnetospeed
Chrono on the gun to get the velocitys, and another target without it on the gun
to see if there was a change in POI. Well as you would think, yes there was
a change in POI.
The 43.0gr looks like the winner as I intend to go 1k with this rifle I want more
velocity. The 42.0gr load shot excellent but at 2758fps I am not happy. When it
warms up into the 70-80's this will all change anyway.
Here are the targets below.

Gonna load up 50 more to shoot at 1K. Will post the results tomorrow on that.

Just got back from the 1K range trip and got to put some rounds on paper at 1000 with the
new 243. Load was RP brass, Wolf LR primers, 43.0gr RL22, with the Nosler 105 Custom Competitions.
Chrono at 2830FPS. Below is the dope card from bullet flight and it checked out to 1000yds.

Dialed 31.5moa on the rifle and fired a 10rnd string a 1000yds with the results shown below.

Here is the steel target swinger I made up and was placed at 800yds.

Pretty happy with the rifle (new barrel) and load. May have shot a better group but with a light snow
going on while shooting it made it difficult at times to get a clear sight picture.

Picts looking down range from the 1000yd line. Also, some pict of the bullet splash
off the plate we had set at 950yds. The 2x4 in the picts was new when we started.

Nice grouping, hope they work that well in my 6 Creed! I dont see any snow, we got enough the trails are still open, thats unheard of in mid March. Damn snow!!

Yep, Fn Snow. It was like a light mist of really fine shit. Almost made it look hazy when you was shooting at 1K.

Ready for warmer weather and better shooting conditions.
