Came home today, and apparently while I was at the hospital having my twins born my Service Grade Garand from the CMP showed up.

SA with a low 1-million serial number puts it in the 1942 range? The barrel is stamped SA with a 1943 date, and overall I’m shocked with how beautiful it is. Muzzle and Throat both gauged 1+.

If the s/n puts the reciever in the Nov-Dec '42 range and the barrel date is Jan-Mar '43 chances are good that it's the original barrel, providing it's not a CMP put together.
