Now that the NRA has commuted suicide

I had to join the nra to get access on a ranch I'm hunting elk on next week, 30 bucks flushed.?

I hedge my bets and still send to the NRA hoping they turn around.

A member here gifted me a metal follower twenty round AR magazine after I had mentioned in a post that I like those things and buy them when I can.

He wouldnt accept any cash from me so I told him Id get myself a member ship in Second Amendment Foundation as it would be helping us both out.

They seem to do good works.

Think they just stopped a magazine ban in Washington State.

Shoot an elk you otherwise would not and it's money well spent. Especially if that's all you're in for. And if you are also in for guide fees etc, $30 is the least of your expenditures.

Anyone got any experience with the firearms policy coalition?

Membership expired years ago and they're still sending all kinds of mail. They never bothered to fight any legislation in California

No guide, it's just tresspass fees, yes the 30 bucks aint shit compared to the fees. Its just the idea.

You NRA guys, just send me your money, I’ll kick you in your nuts, slap your wife on the ass and we’ll call it even. Mmmk?
Hey wait Send me your money I got gun build bills to pay plus ammo.

Big complaint I heard about the NRA prior to Wayne Lapiere spending the money on himself was that they send you too much "scary" stuff in the mail.....

Ill have you note SAF also sends "scary stuff" in the mail.

Im guessing they all do.

I strongly urge everyone to donate to their state firearms advocacy group(s). It would appear that these groups are the ones doing the heavy lifting when it comes to concealed carry, lifting stupid statewide Class III bans, etc.

I'm not yet willing to divorce the NRA outright (the Life membership is bought and paid for at this point), but they aren't getting any more money from me until they clean house.

I’m required by my local range to be a member. Seems like I am wasting money in comparison to some of the other groups I voluntarily contribute to. The only thing they have going for them is that the lefties hate them.

just listen to all the dems that vow to fight the nra if elected. the nra is still a major presence out there and just because they have or might have some issues, they're still the most feared 2a entity and we should not abandon them.

there's nothing more the left/anti's want than our unified voices and votes via the nra to go away.

Nobody. I’m too busy getting my shit in order and AJ worthy stockpiles.
Winning court battles gets you more than adding yet another case of 556 to the stash.

Ive moving onto getting good people into black rifles to include giving them away. Other people fighting for you is better than a hermit wth a ammo stash that can't fit in a f350

Thanks for the link, DS...fucking guy is a disgrace and needs to be fired immediately and shamed left and right. Seems like a leftist deep cover plant to me.

Nah the NRA has a history of helping "deals" that lose more of our rights.

Would have more money to fight this if Wayne's wife's company wasn't getting tens of millions and Wayne wasn't paying European escorts I mean interns 20000 a day

yep, and that history is likely the result of and driven by plants at every level of the organization. Look no further than how effectively the communists infiltrated the Democratic Party. They have it down to a science and we are stuck playing catch up

Occam's Razor, guys. What is more likely?

1) Wayne is a Dem/commie plant (going back a few decades), and/or has been compromised in some fashion by a political interest;

Or...

2) Wayne got a few licks at the ol' free-money teat and got himself addicted. He then built up a firewall of cronies by sharing a bit.

The first makes for a way more interesting story, but the second is far more likely.

It's a gigantic failure of corporate governance, and most of us members are complicit since we've established party lines like "it's the only group in DC that's fighting for our rights!" or "they must be doing something right, since the libs are pissed!". Meanwhile, state bans on suppressor ownership and use are getting rolled back, and statewide shall-issue concealed carry laws proliferated, and these very good things happened on the backs of statewide groups that are probably doing this work with a tenth of the money that we throw at the NRA.

It's far past time to give Wayne a one-way ticket to leave town, and get some new blood in place.

I was getting three to five calls a day and when I put the number into a search bar they were all nra related. One day I finally had enough of the calls and answered. They were dying to have me re-up my expired membership. “Half off life membership” pitch made and I said no thanks, you guys lost my support when you signed off on the bump stock ban. A pitch was made for a yearly instead because they needed the money to fight the Bloomberg’s and Beto’s out there. I said if you need money that bad, have Wayne sell some of his suits and donate the proceeds. After that call I haven’t heard from them since.

They will need to make a hard 180 for awhile before they ever see another dime from me.

@E. Bryant The corporate governance failures and greed enabled the infiltration and compromise we are seeing today. Removing Pierre would be a big step in the right direction; cleaning house would be even better.

That said, If you think the activist left is not actively engaged in both direct and asymmetrical “soft” warfare, including penetration of conservative organizations, etc. I have cheap bridges spanning the East river I’d love to sell you. Occam’s razor isn’t as clear anymore when it comes to our present political environment.

Also, which states are having their suppressor/assault weapons bans rolled back? I’m looking for this on the web now so may answer my own question in the meantime...hopefully I’ll find some examples of these wins because all I’ve seen lately are steps in the wrong direction

Local range requirement is being a member of the nra, ten years ago no problem...now I really don't want to send my money to them.

It’s the fucking worst when the only place near you to shoot requires a membership. One of the hardest financial decisions I’ve had to make was if I should pay for an NRA RSO “certification.” lol still hurts me to this day. But I had to have it (per the range) if I wanted to rent out the range to teach or for personal use.

I’m sure the NRA used to be great, back like 20 or more years ago.

Ah.....so the NRA aint changed. Same old same old. Some of you may not remember...they HELPED draft the assault weapons ban of the 1990’s and gave it the stamp of approval.

As far as those of you spouting the “need new blood” arguement.....i’ve been hearing that for over 20 years. It’s the same old, same old. Still begging for sheckles, and living high on the hog with them. New blood has entered, and nothing has changed. those that have been around long enough to witness their bullshit and corruption have an obligation to call it like it is, instead of buying into the repetitive bullshit they spew.

Those of you promoting state orgs, and goa, and the other groups....i can’t argue that. What i know is you are helping the enemy when you support the nra. I’ve seen it over and over.

I choose to put my time and effort into teaching new shooters. My time, my money, my guns and my ammo teaching people who have never shot before. Make shooters out of non shooters. Pretty hard to bullshit those folks.
