NPOA and drift

Re: NPOA and drift

Really!!??!! Left , wow. I defenitely drift right with my reticle but my hips still line up a bit right. I still have that slight angle.
I was impacting a bit right more than i would like to be honest and i finally think i figured it out to be my NPOA.

Somethin else that im not sure is the norm but seemes to have helped my bipod hop and re aquiring of the target is shortening my LOP. That brought my ar
S a bit closer to my body and minimized the reticle jumping to the right (im a lefty). Again not sure if that was it but thats the change i made on he rifle.

Sorry typing on the phone & multitasking.

Re: NPOA and drift

Identifying it is half the battle, if you have an answer and you know what is going on, the correction is easy. Just takes practices.

No real rule of thumbs to work with, just some average behaviors we see, if you are slightly different then that is the answer... you shift right, push the shot right, hence you have to work on it.

I generally advocate your LOP being 1/2" shorter than the measured distance from the crook of your arm to the trigger. That should be with the stock in the crook of your arm with your grip and finger in place. Don't just extend it there and hold the finger straight and measure that is too long.

But it seems you are diagnosing your own issues which is good.

Re: NPOA and drift

Thanks Frank, i'm trying, it's frustrating sometimes though.

The other lesson I learned here is don't be afraid to change your setup, try different things. I know it can sometimes be a PITA but sometimes the change can solve issues one would have never resolved otherwise. If it doens't then one can always go back to the original setup. That's how I improved my target re-aquisition a bit. All it took was re zeroing my gun.
