Hi Guys

I have a bunch of 140s. Is anyone making power factor with a 22 inch 6.5 creed barrel in NRL hunter?

Thanks

380,000/140 = 2715 fps minimum. What are you getting with loads now? In reality, you shouldn't have much of a problem meeting PF with 140s.

I'm having trouble with a proof 22 inch carbon fiber barrel shooting under an inch with anything over 2700 fps. It shoots great at 2600 same load but shot guns at 2700+ with 140 bergers and 143 eldx. 1.1-1.5 inch groups. It shoots factory ammo good but its slow. I dont want to shoot factory in a match. I've never shot any good groups over 2700 fps. So I'm trying to get some data because something seems off with this barrel.

That's odd, but carbons can be weird. What powder? Seeing pressure signs at all or the gun just doesn't like it?

In reality, the heavier the bullet, the easier it is to make power factor. It might seem counter intuitive, but trying the 147-156 weight bullets might help get you there.

I know you don't want to shoot factory, but it is 100% viable in NRL hunter. Typically targets are larger and closer on average than what you'll see in PRS matches.

H4350. 40 grains it's shoots great .5 to .75 inch at 100. At 42 grains it's 1.1 to 1.5 inches. No pressure signs. I have a 22 inch Tikka that shot this ammo great at 42 grains. Yeah I get a heavier bullet would be easier but I have so many 140s id like to use them and I don't think I'm pushing the bullets that hard.

Yes, a 22-inch 6.5 Creedmoor barrel can help improve power factor in NRL Hunter with 140s. Good luck!

Code:

Brass: Alpha Munitions Small Rifle Primer (virgin)

Note that I was able to get 2750+ with 144 and StaBALL 6.5, but the temperature swing from 65 to 95F was 30fps.
