Number of pieces in a Lot

In your experiences what do you think it the correct number of brass to have in a "lot"?

I just finished up a 6BRA and I initially purchased 300 pieces of Peterson brass for my first lot.

I'd imagine that when I start having to cull cases down to about 250 I'll have to tank the entire batch and re-up with a new lot of virgin brass. (I'm hoping that I'll have to rebarrel by that point)

Should I consider purchasing more brass or is 300 a decent starting point?

I bet you could get through 2 barrels with a lot of that size.

The correct number is how many you need. If doing a 2 day match get 300. That gives you a bit of load confirmation before loading them all up, 250 for the match plus some sighters.

At least enough to kill a barrel.
My first lot of 260 was 250 cases and it killed two barrels and got solidly into a third.

I run 150 cases for my 7 saum.

My thought process was how many will need for a match and how many will i expect to lose

Last thing I want is being limited because I'm dry on brass.
