Night Vision NV Clip on mounting question

I have a simple question that hopefully gets a simple answer. I have a Armasight CO-X clip on in front of a NF ATACR 4-16x42. The NF scope is in a NF unimount that is 20 moa. The NV clip on is directly in front on the rail of my AR. Will the image be distorted or not as good as it could be since the day scope is on a 20 moa mount and the NV device is on a 0 moa cant? They both line up very well, I’m just wondering if it should not be affected or if I need both to be on the same plane?

The easiest way to tell is test it and see!
First zero your day scope and then at night put on your clipon and shoot same distance, position etc. (everything as same as possible) with the clipon mounted. If your groups day and night are nearly identical, then you are good. If there is a distinct POI shift then not good.
A clipon with a sufficiently good collimating lens on back, like the PVS-30 will not have a POI shift if the optics line up well.
Yes, in theory it is better if they are lined up as well as possible.
But the easiest way to tell is test it and see !!!
:)

That was a good read. I don’t think that I should have any problems. Mainly because both of the optics and the lenses or scope objectives come fairly close and have about equal alignment on the top and bottom. I’ll know soon because I intend to take care of some coyotes this weekend.

Here’s the setup. Looks like it lines up pretty good to me, but I could be wrong.

If it was me, I would test it ... zero without clipon ... then mount clipon and repeat ... test it before going hunting ... that seems simpliest way to find out if there is an issue.
